  Coney Island has its Polar Bear Club to bring in the New Year, but on Staten Island, we walk the beach.  And have been doing so for 29 years around noon on New Year’s Day come rain or shine, snow or hail, cold, colder or coldest, whatever. Joe Holzka Community Garden in Staten Island

    This is a video about the Joe Holzka Community Garden in Staten Island, NY showing the lush greenery, abundance of vegetables grown there and the community gardeners who make it all happen. The gardeners capture rainwater, compost their garden waste and use companion planting and vertical planters to increase production.
